피아니스트신상일은 선화예술학교를 졸업후, 서울예고에 재학중 도오하여 오스트리아 빈국립음대를 입학, 학사와 석사과정을 졸업하였으며 최고연주자과정을 마쳤다. 

중학교 1학년때 이미 영산아트홀에서 Mendelssohn piano concerto를 협연하며 연주활동의 첫발을 내딛은 그는 유럽을 중심으로 본격적인 연주활동을 시작하며 2009년 북체코필하모니와 세계최고의 홀 드보르작홀과 스메타나홀에서 Beethoven piano concerto no.3 를 협연을 하였고, 러시아 마이콥 필하모니와 Rachmaninov piano concerto no.2 를 협연하여 현지 관객으로 부터 호평을 받으며 연주자로서의 성공 가능성을 보여주었다. 
프라하에서 객원 지휘를 맡았던 마에스트로 Jacob Chi는 “어린나이임에도 작곡가의 심오한 음악세계를 완벽하게 소화는 특출함을 지닌 피아니스트”라는 찬사와 호평을 보냈다.
또한 2015년 10월 멕시코 몬테레이에서 몬테레이심포니오케스트라와 Saint säns piano concerto no.2를 성공적으로 마치고 현지 라디오방송에 출연하며 세계적인 피아니스트로 발돋움 하고있다.

피아니스트 신상일은 빈국립음대 재학당시, Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, Rudolf Keherer, Martin Hughes, Leonel Morales Alonso등 다수의 마스터클래스에 참가하였으며 교수들의 추천으로 다양한 연주활동을 진행하였다. 특히, Karl-Heinz Kammerling 교수는 “피아노건반위, 음하나로 섬세함과 카리스마를 자유자재로 표현할수 있는 최고의 피아니스트가 될 인재” 라며 칭찬을 아끼지 않았다. 한국에서는 이혜경, 김석, 박로사, 이옥희, 김정원, 빈 에서는 최고의 연주자이자 교수인 Oleg Maisenberg과 Stefan Arnold를 사사했다.

유럽을 중심으로 다양한 연주활동을 준비중인 피아니스트 신상일은 2016년 3월 체코 프라하에서 카를로비 바리 필하모니, 2016년 6월 우크라이나 카르코프에서 카르코프 필하모니와 협연또한 성황리에 마쳤다.
또한 2015년 9월 비올리스트 김남중과 예술의 전당 IBK홀에서 연주, 2016년 3월에 이어 2017년 3월 세종문화회관 체임버홀과 예술의전당 IBK홀에서 라임오페라앙상블 정기 연주회 초청연주, 바이올리니스트 정상희와 모스크바 차이코프스키음악원 교수로 재직중인 첼리스트 Kirill Rodin과 2016년 7월 Armonie della sera festival di musica da camera, Cesky Krumlov International music festival에서 초청연주를 성공적으로 끝냈고, 하피스트 한혜주와 2016년 5월 뉴욕 카네기홀에서 연주를 시작으로 2016년 10월 베를린 베를린필하모니커 홀, 런던 St James's Church Piccadilly에서 초청연주를 이어가며 솔로활동 외에도 다양한 연주로 연주자의 길을 넓혀가고있다.

Budapest Symphony Orchestra MAV와 SONY에서 음반을 발매하고 2017년 2월 태국 국립 교향악단과 협연, 3월 예술의전당 IBK챔버홀 라임오페라앙상블 정기연주회 초청연주, 헝가리 부다페스트 리스트홀 Schwingungen Trio 협연, 4월 롯데콘서트홀 하피스트 한혜주와 듀오연주, 금호아트홀 독주회, 7월 비올리스트 최하람 독주회, 바이올리니스트 장새로미 독주회, 구리시 청소년 교향악단과 협연, 10월 하피스트 한혜주와 뉴욕 카네기홀 연주, 코엑스 별마당 도서관, 마포도서관 연주등 솔로와 실내악등으로 청중들에게 다가가고있다.

Born in 1986 in South Korea, Pianist Sangeil Shin has shown impressive skills, even during his education. After graduating from SunhwaArt School, he entered Seoul Art High School. However, during his attendance, Shin moved to Vienna in order to enter Universitaet fuer Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien (MDW), where he received a Bachelor and Masters degree and finished solistenexamen. In 7thgrade, Shin has shown great promise of his future as a world class musician. By then, he had already given his first performance at the Yongsan Art Center with Mendelssohn Piano Concerto. 

Currently, Shin has become more active around Europe, but also worldwide. In 2009, he performed with North Czech Philharmonic Orchestra within Dvorak Hall and Smetana Hall, both being the finest halls throughout the globe, and played Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 3. Furthermore, the audience loved Shin’s performance of Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No. 2. Maestro Jacob Chi stated that he has “never seen such a young musician, who fully understands the gravity of the composer’s intention in his music. Shin was able to empathise with the writter and was able to express those complicated emotions”.

During his studies in MDW, pianist Sangeil Shin participated in master classes held by Karl-Heinz Kammerling, Rudolf Kkeherer, Martin Hughes, Leonel Morales Alonso and more. Most of the professors highly recommended such a talented musician, especially professor Karl-Heinz Kammerling. “Shin is a flexible pianist,” Karl-Heinz Kammerling complimented, “every note he touches carries sensitive nature, yet his performance is charismatic. He will become the greatest pianist.

Shin was taught by some of the greatest professors. In Korea, he was taught by Hye-Kyung Lee, Suk Kim, Rosa Park, Okhee Lee and Jyung-Won Kim and in Vienna, by Oleg Maisenberg and Stefan Arnold. 

Currently, the pianist is planning on several more concerts, mainly around Europe: a concert in IBK Hall in Seoul Art Center with violinist Nam JoongKim on September 2015; concerto on October 2015 with MontreSymphony Orchestra in Montre, Mexico; performance with Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra on March 2016 in Prague, Czech Republic; concert with Kharkov Philharmonic Orchestra on June 2016 in Kharkov, Ukraine; and a concert with Thailand Symphony Orchestra on 2017 February as an invited guest. Other future concerts are to be held in the following countries: Czech Republic, Ukraine, Italy, Thailand, New York, Germany, and United Kingdom.

Furthermore, on September 2016, Shin will be recording a CD album with Budapest Symphony Orchestra and is expected to be published by SONY by the end of October.

Shin is not limited to solo performance. With violinist Sania Cheong and cellist KirillRodin, the three have formed Schwingungen Trio. The trio will be giving a concert on July 2016 at Armonie della sera festival di musica da camera 2016 and in Cesky Krumlov International Music Festival. In addition, with harpist HyeJu Han, both plan to perform in New York Carnegie Hall in May, Berlin Philharmonic Hall in October and in London Picadilly, and may record a CD together in New York.
